While both do a beautiful job, a laser etching machine burns through a thin upper layer of the granites polish and only does well on black granite. In contrast, Impact etchers use a diamond “needle” point tip that emulates the old craftmanship of hand impacting. This is achieved by impacting the stone with varying degrees of pressure onto the stone which creates the contrast and definition in the final product. The best feature, Diamond Impact Etching can be achieved on many granite colours, not just black.
Below are some beautiful examples of the detailed work we are able to offer our customers.
